07/16/2009 -- Malvasia Bianca, the Joey Tribbiani of Forgotten Grapes
Whoa! This week’s Forgotten Grape is most certainly Italian, though much like the actor who played a certain New York City-dwelling Italian soap star on TV, it can come from a lot of other places as well). And it’s certainly versatile. It can play soft and sweet, or it can play dry and serious, whatever you want, sweet lips. It goes by a few different names (Dr. Drake Ramoray yes; Joe Stalin no) and has numerous sisters, all of whom share at least part of the same name. And it certainly doesn’t have a problem attracting its fair share of admirers. But deep down, this Forgotten Grape has got a sweet, soft heart and it’s a wine you’ll want to spend a lot of time, one you’ll definitely want to be “Friends” with. So hop into your recliner, pull up the legs, flip on Baywatch (but it’s Yasmine...and she’s running) and enjoy a glass of this week’s Forgotten Grape, Malvasia Bianca. - 2 Topics
